Front row cornet, Emily Rich, and E flat bass, Dave Pattenden, received awards at UCB’s annual meeting.

Band musical director, Nick Morris, presented the award for the most improved player to Emily.

Dave received the trophy for the player “yet to go down the pan”, following a long list of worthy recipients including Steve Walkley, Dennis Martin, Ann Zeal-Bland, Rob Brown and Edwina Wooler.

 The band also elected a new committee for 2018-2019: Paul Labus (chair),  Edwina Wooler (secretary), Dave Pattenden (treasurer), Rob Brown (business manager), Karen Packer (librarian), Simon Kahn (wardrobe and equipment officer), June Card and Ruth Hayhurst.
