A dozen current and former Uckfield Concert Brass members joined mourners at the funeral of band vice-president, Joan Smith.

Joan had been a long-standing and loyal UCB supporter since her late husband, Ian, played trombone with the band.

Her family asked UCB for a recording of Sussex by the Sea, to close the funeral service.

But band members offered instead to play in person and were proud to join the congregation at Buxted Church on 9 January 2019.
