This week, Australian musician Mike Pilley picked Uckfield Concert Brass as his band of the week.

The trombonist set himself a challenge in January of visiting a new band every week during his stay in the UK in 2019.

So far he has joined rehearsals with bands in Northern Ireland, South Wales, Bristol, Surrey, Sussex and Kent.

This week, he came to UCB’s practice night on Tuesday at the Alma Arms.

Mike brought his own piece for the band to play. Hymn for Barney was written in memory of a West Highland terrier he looked after while house-sitting in February 2018.
