Uckfield Concert Brass is planning a special event to remember flugelhorn player, Andy Bamford, who died in December last year.

As a tribute, the band will stage an informal concert at our home, the Alma Arms pub, in Uckfield. During the event, bench for the pub’s garden will be unveiled in his memory.

Andy, known to everyone in the band as Pastie, joined as a teenager in the 1980s. He had moved to Sussex from Somerset. Although pasties are not particularly associated with Somerset, the nickname stuck for ever.

We hope Pastie’s family will be able to join us for the concert and we’ll be inviting band friends and neighbours.
