Proms Praise
Uckfield Concert Brass filled the town’s Holy Cross Church with sacred music for the popular Proms Praise concert.
The programme, conducted by musical director Nick Morris, was a mix of favourite hymns, such as Guide me O thou great redeemer and Battle hymn of the republic, with concert pieces, including Laudate Dominum and Love Unknown.
One member of the audience described the event as “truly uplifting and inspirational”. In a message to the band, she said:
“As always, the standard of music was brilliant, with the most wonderful arrangements and haunting melodies encompassing many well loved hymns. You certainly created a marvellous atmosphere of joy and contemplation.”

UCB returns to Holy Cross for the annual Carols by Candlelight event on Saturday 9 December 2023. Before then, the band will be part of Uckfield Carnival on Saturday 2 September 2023.
