Outstanding Debs
UCB’s solo horn player, Debs Chambers, won the award for “outstanding tenor horn” at the southern counties spring contest last weekend.
She was presented with the award at the band’s rehearsal by musical director, Nick Morris.
Debs had a key role in UCB’s performance of Purcell Variations, by Kenneth Downie. She beat horn players from 12 other bands to win the award.
Another UCB player, soprano cornet, Andy Wooller, received a long service award at the contest.
