2024 awards and AGM

UCB’s percussion section has won the 2024 section of the year award.

The winning section was voted on by band members and the trophy presented by outgoing band chairman, David Pattenden, at the AGM last night (26 November 2024).

Patrycja Wagner and Daniel Card (right) were presented with the section of the year award by outgoing band chairman, David Pattenden.

The award, now in its second year, was made in memory of former band chair and solo trombone, Peter Cowlett, who died two years ago.

The award for most improved player went to first baritone, Chris Nonoo.

An award in the shape of a toilet seat for experienced players (not yet down the pan) went to soprano cornet, Andy Wooler (seen left).

Elections

The band unanimously elected musical director Nick Morris as a new band vice-president.

The new committee for 2024 is:

Property officer: Simon Kahn
