Uckfield’s town crier, Ian Bedwell, took to the streets on Saturday to announce details of this year’s Proms on the Pitch, just a week away.

The musical spectacular, now in its fifth year, is on Saturday 15 July at Uckfield Rugby Club. This year, for the first time, Ian will lend his voice to the event as the master of ceremonies.

The prom features leading local performers and a dazzling finale with fireworks.
Uckfield Concert Brass is proud to again headline the event and lead the traditional Proms programme, including Land of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem and Rule Britannia.
The band will be joined by soprano Jo Appleby, who has toured the world with some of the biggest names in music and entertainment and Brighton-based vocal harmony trio, The Flat Pack, with its tribute to swing music.
Also returning to the event are the Sussex jazz fusion group, The Fabulous Red Diesel, fresh from Ronnie Scott’s, Uckfield Theatre Guild and Holy Cross Church children’s choir.
