Nessun Dorma highlight at Proms on the Pitch
One of the world’s favourite operatic arias is a highlight of this year’s Proms on the Pitch in Uckfield on Saturday (13 July 2024).

Renowned tenor Andrew Rees will sing the beautiful love song, Nessun Dorma, accompanied by Uckfield Concert Brass.
His performance promises to be one of the best moments of Proms on the Pitch, Uckfield’s summer musical extravaganza, now in its sixth year.
The aria, from Puccini’s Turandot, achieved pop status when it became the anthem of the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Rome.
It was performed by The Three Tenors and many other artists at concerts around the world. It featured at the world cup finals in 1994, 1998 and 2002 and was on the best-selling classical album of all time, The Three Tenors in Concert.
Andrew, originally from Wales and now living in Newick, has performed in top concert venues around the world, with leading conductors and orchestras.
At Proms on the Pitch, he will join Uckfield Concert Brass to lead the singing for the ever-popular Proms Night finale, which ends in a spectacular fireworks display.

This year’s event also features some of the best of local talent, including swing music trio The Flat Pack, jazz fusion group The Fabulous Red Diesel, the Uckfield Singers, Uckfield Theatre Guild, Uckfield Community Orchestra and Holy Cross Children’s and Youth Choirs.
There’s still time to buy discounted advance tickets at £12.50 online at ubcs.sumupstore.com/ or from Gale & Woolgar, in Uckfield High Street. Entry on the day is £15.
