UCB players join unique event
Two musicians from Uckfield Concert Brass joined members of bands from across the south coast for a unique series of concerts on 27 May 2023.
Specially-formed band performing part of Rhythm of Light in Eastbourne
Edwina Wooler and Karen Packer were part of the horn section for performances of two movements of Rhythm of Light, a piece specially-written for a travelling sculpture exhibition.
The music celebrates the life and work of Barbara Hepworth, whose Art and Life tour was making its final stop at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne.
The four performances, on the piazza outside the gallery, were conducted by Linda Harvey and introduced by the composer, Liz Lane.
As well as UCB, players came from Bournemouth Concert Brass, Brighton & Hove City Brass, Colchester City Band, Friary Brass Band, Godalming Band, Horsham Borough Band, Lewes Glynde and Beddingham Brass Band, Otterbourne Brass and the Oxted Band.
